This photograph isn't the clearest but I really like how my paper bag-diorama drawing came out. I created intense shadows to add a sense of drama to the piece along with a variety of interesting shapes.
The first drawing starts out as a realistic hose nozzle, however each drawing after that gets altered and distorted until the final drawing becomes completely abstract.
When I was in NYC last weekend I saw a guy making a huge sandart in the middle of Washington Square. With nothing keeping it from blowing away, he poured sand right on the sidewalk. He claimed that this was what he did for a living!
In this project I wanted to convey a theme of "change." A lot of people have a fear of growing older. However, we have no choice but to move forward and live in the present. Regrets will always be present, but there is nothing we can do to change the past.
